This was another cold night, and they had locked the restrooms which were close to where I was camping without telling anyone. But in the dark, I found the one still opened, happy not to have frozen anything off while searching.
In the morning, I packed up the tent before having breakfast and a hot coffee at the picnic table: Starbucks instant which is better than most especially when your hands are still cold from packing. I made a last dash to the visitor center (closed), and redid the Bright Angel trail. A few devotees were still there getting a last look.
Driving to Hurricane (just north of St George) was uneventful, and I got there before the sun set. The KOA campground overlooks a section of the I-15 freeway where you can do 80 mph, and it is the thoroughfare between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, so there is noisy traffic at all hours. There are only 10-12 tent sites, and most likely only tent users mind it since the big rigs have some insulation cutting down the noise. The flip side is that the KOA has nice hot showers which are much more pleasant than baby wipes.
The next day, I stayed in camp for most of the day, uploading some photos over the erratic wifi, doing some light grocery shopping, and treating myself to a dinner out.
